Alternative Fuels, Emission Reduction Legislation

Passed 84th Regular Session:

  1. HB 735 Relating to the collection of information regarding the number of alternatively fueled vehicles registered in this state.

Synopsis: HB 735 has added Section 502.004 to the Texas Transportation Code which defines “alternatively fueled vehicle” and rules that the department shall establish a program to collect information about the number of alternatively fueled vehicles registered in this state. The bill also states that the department shall submit an annual report to the legislature that includes the number of (1) electric plug-in drives; (2) hybrid electric drives; (3) compressed natural gas drives; and, (4) liquefied natural gas drives in this state.
