Economic development professionals cite access to a highly skilled workforce as being one of, if not the most, important factors that businesses cite when choosing where to locate. As they compete to attract highly skilled workers, more employers are focusing on recruitment strategies that address the transportation needs and preferences of those workers. To identify those preferences, researchers interviewed a range of human resource and recruitment professionals in fields that rely on this segment of the workforce. This report examines related issues, and draws several observations from the research.
