This project will examine truck use of preferential freeway lanes, such as managed lanes, high occupancy toll lanes, and truck-only lanes. These traffic management techniques are being considered in many major metropolitan areas in Texas and across the country. Allowing trucks to use managed lanes – either part-time or full-time –may provide a more efficient use of available freeway capacity.
